Just plug it in to a USB 2. A splitter can cause loss of half the signal.

I’m not aware of any vendors that sell the USB receiver for this mouse. Dynex 5-in-1 USB 2. You might try a different monitor as a test to try to narrow down the problem.
Make sure you are trying to plug it in a 2. You make have a problem if you are plugging a USB 2. Put two AAA batteries into the mouse.
